GroundWork Counseling, LLC
Dr. Donald Wilde, D.Min.
since 1992, programming for
Men's domestic violence groups held in Eaton, Ingham, and Clinton CountiesWhile addressing a variety of issues at GroundWork Counseling, and mostly in group settings, all counseling employs basic, classic, counseling approaches. Unlawful and unethical behaviors are confronted directly without being ‘in your face’. Each of the structured group programs confronts maladaptive, destructive behaviors by building on personal strengths rather than focusing solely on weaknesses and failures. This program is demanding without being demeaning.
Dr. Wilde deeply respects
each of his clients. He
believes that every person who comes to GroundWork Counseling is a person of
infinite value. No one
has offended so greatly as to be devoid of God-given dignity and
worth. This program accepts its obligation to do its very best for
each client, for their family, and for our community.
If
you won’t discipline yourself,
someone else will.
All groups
and individual counseling share some commonalities; all are
optimistic, challenging, and direct. Honesty is demanded of
everyone, as is confidentiality with other group members.
Minimizing, denying and blaming are strongly opposed.
All clients are held accountable for their own behavioral
choices, whether wise or unwise, and outside accountability
enhancements are encouraged.
